Certification and Accreditation
The Society offers certification to individual surgeons in breast ultrasound and in stereotactic breast procedures. In addition, facilities can be accredited by the Society in breast ultrasound and in stereotactic breast procedures. Breast ultrasound and stereotactic certification both require the submission of a clinical application and successful completion of a written examination. Stereotactic certification also requires successful completion of a practical exam. To become accredited in either breast ultrasound or stereotactic breast procedures, facilities must submit an application that demonstrates it meets the specified requirements.
