Mastery of Breast Surgery Program

Surgery Module

The Surgery Module enables participants to enter various levels of information on their surgical procedures. Participants may chose from three different levels of participation for this module. Participation levels may be changed at anytime by visiting the “Setup” section of the program’s website and clicking on “Levels of Participation.”

The three levels of participation for the Surgery Module include:

  1. The “Quality Measures Only” level of participation which includes data fields for answering basic quality measures on surgical treatment.
  2. The “Standard” level of participation enables participants to expand their reporting options.  “Standard” participation includes quality measures from the “Quality Measures Only” level and adds additional data fields for reporting including the location of the procedure,  indications and pathology,  which formats the cases for submission to the American Board of Surgery as part of the recertification process.
  3. The “PQRI” level, provides the opportunity for participants to report on the PQRI perioperative measures group which includes measures on antibiotic and venous thromboembolism prophylaxis.  Participants in the PQRI registry will need to report on all quality measures in the perioperative measures group in addition to the other quality measures included in the mastery program’s surgery module on a minimum of 30 patients from January 1-December 31, 2010.  A minimum  of two patients must be Medicare Part B Fee For Service patients.
