Founded in 1995, the Society has grown to more than 3000 members in the United States and 35 countries throughout the world. Active membership is open to surgeons with a special interest in breast disease. Non-general surgeons or non-surgeon physicians with a demonstrated interest in breast surgery may join as associate members; allied healthcare professionals, researchers and scientists who are engaged in the care of breast surgery patients as affiliate members; and general surgery residents and surgical oncology and breast fellows currently enrolled in a residency/fellowship program as candidate members.
