Breast surgeons and APPs who order genetic testing and provide counselling to their patients on genetic testing results.
Objectives:

At the end of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the current literature on moderate penetrance pathogenic mutations with identified breast cancer risk.
  • Address current understanding of contralateral breast cancer risk in pathogenic variant carriers.
  • Manage and address VUS results in your practice.
  • Identify strategies to address the risk of other malignancies beyond breast cancer
Description:

This online activity will provide an understanding of “beyond the basics” of cancer genetics essential for contemporary breast surgery practice, particularly in addressing post-testing concerns. The activity is designed to support Breast Surgeons and APPs continued access and involvement in the genetic testing process and offer practitioners an additional CME opportunity, as encouraged by the NAPBC.
