Advanced Practice Provider Course

Course Description:

This pre-meeting course is designed for physician assistants and nurse practitioners practicing breast surgical oncology and benign breast disease, with a focus on practical, evidence-based management across the breast care continuum. Through didactic sessions, case-based discussion, and hands-on industry experiences, participants will address survivorship care, management of endocrine treatment, lactation, framework for prior authorizations, and strategies for building high risk and survivorship programs. The course emphasizes real-world tools and workflows to enhance comprehensive, patient-centered care within multidisciplinary breast teams.

Course Objectives:

At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to:

• Apply current evidence and guidelines to manage survivorship issues, which include short-term and long-term side effects of systemic treatment.
• Implement practical documentation, monitoring, and workflow strategies to support medication approvals, survivorship care, and efficient APP-led clinical practice.
• Integrate emerging tools, technologies, and programmatic approaches to develop and enhance APP-led survivorship and benign breast care programs within multidisciplinary teams.
