Beginner Course

Description
This prerequisite primer course is designed for general and breast surgeons who have not performed (or do not routinely perform) oncoplastic breast surgery. The pre-recorded lectures will provide information on beginner-level strategies and techniques for delivering oncoplastic breast care related to breast conservation. Participants will complete the didactic lectures prior to arriving on site.
The onsite breast surgery simulator lab will provide a hands-on surgical skills lab for supervised practice of procedures taught in the pre-recorded lectures. Attendees will be assigned to stations to practice photographic documentation, skin markings, aesthetic scar placement, cavity closure with glandular displacement, crescent mastopexy, therapeutic donut mastopexy, and aesthetic flat closure. Description
This intermediate course is designed for general and breast surgeons who have successfully completed basic oncoplastic surgery training and are ready to expand their expertise with displacement techniques that reshape both the breast gland and skin envelope. Through pre-recorded didactic content, participants will gain an in-depth understanding of advanced surgical strategies for delivering comprehensive oncoplastic breast care, including patient selection, operative planning, technical execution, and management of complications.
The onsite breast surgery simulator lab provides participants with the opportunity to apply these concepts in a supervised, interactive learning environment. Faculty-led stations will focus on surgical markings, operative planning, and the performance of Level II oncoplastic procedures. To maximize the educational value of the course and ensure readiness for the laboratory experience, participants are required to review all pre-recorded course materials prior to attending.
