Fellow of ASBrS
The Fellow of the American Society of Breast Surgeons (FASBrS) designation recognizes members who have demonstrated exceptional, sustained service to the Society. This honor acknowledges individuals whose leadership, engagement, and contributions have significantly advanced the mission, values, and strategic priorities of ASBrS. Fellowship is selective and honors members with extraordinary service to the Society.
The FASBrS application will release Q1 2027.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for Fellowship, applicants must:
- Be an Active member in good standing
- Demonstrate follow-through on commitments
- Be at least 10 years post-completion of surgical training
- Submit 1 letter of recommendation
- Provide a personal statement describing service to ASBrS
These requirements establish baseline professionalism and commitment.
Selection Criteria
Fellowship is awarded using a points-based rubric that emphasizes service to ASBrS. All activities must be verifiable through ASBrS records or public documentation. Applicants must earn at least 100 points, with minimum thresholds as specified below. There are no category maximums.
Category A — Engagement & Service
Minimum Required: 20 points
Recognizes sustained participation in ASBrS activities, committees, programs, and educational offerings.
Membership & Participation
- Continuous ASBrS Membership ≥10 Years
- Attendance at ≥ 10 ASBrS Annual Meetings
Committee & Program Service
- Committee / Task Force Membership
- Committee Vice-Chair
- Committee / Task Force Chair
- Advisors / Appointee to Service*
Category B — Education
Minimum Required: 15 points
Only ASBrS-related educational contributions are counted.
Educational & Scientific Contribution
- Annual Meeting Faculty*
- Chair / Director of Major Event*
Category C — Leadership & Governance
Minimum Required: 0 points
Recognizes the highest levels of service to the Society.

- President
- Chair of Board
- Executive Committee Member*
Review Process
Applications are reviewed and approved by the ASBrS Board of Directors. Applications meeting the minimum score and category thresholds are recommended for approval. Fellowship may be awarded annually or semiannually.
Maintenance of Fellowship
Fellows are expected to remain members in good standing and uphold the values of ASBrS. The Board reserves the right to review or revoke Fellowship in cases of misconduct or loss of eligibility.
