Course Description:

This course focuses on advanced oncoplastic techniques including volume replacement with chest wall perforator flaps, Goldilocks mastectomy, aesthetic flat closure, and extreme oncoplasty. The section on extreme oncoplasty introduces the split reduction pattern, nipple reconstruction and combining volume replacement and displacement for the most challenging cases of breast conserving surgery.

Attendees will be required to review pre-recorded didactics prior to the course. On site, each attendee will be assigned to a station, led by a workshop faculty member, to perform the following procedures:

  • LICAP/MICAP/AICAP Flap
  • Split Reduction Pattern
  • Goldilocks Mastectomy and Aesthetic Flat Closure
  • Central Lumpectomy and Nipple Reconstruction

Course Objectives:

At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Understand the planning and dissection of the different chest wall perforator flaps depending on the specific breast defect
  • Understanding the technical details of advanced oncoplasty to include the split reduction pattern, nipple reconstruction and combining volume replacement and displacement
  • Understand the indications for the Goldilocks mastectomy, nipple-sparing Goldilocks mastectomy, and aesthetic flat closure with the technical details required to perform these surgeries

CME Credit Information:

This other activity (enduring material activity and live activity) has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Check back for credit designation updates.
