The American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBrS) recently announced new genetic testing guidelines for hereditary breast cancer, calling for genetic testing to be available to all patients diagnosed with breast cancer. These new recommendations expand on common restrictions which recommend testing only for certain age groups and types of cancer. Registration for the Society's 2019 annual meeting, which will be held April 30 - May 5 in Dallas, TX, is now open. The American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Breast Surgeons are offering an annual scholarship to subsidize attendance and participation in the Executive Leadership Program in Health Policy and Management at Brandeis University. The course takes place June 2—8, 2019. The award is in the amount of $8,000, to be used toward the cost of tuition, travel, housing, and subsistence during the period of the course.

The American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBrS) hosted its first annual 2025 Forum on Breast Surgery, October 20, 2018 in Hanover, Maryland. The Society assembled a group of society thought leaders, experts in payment and reimbursement, and members of its Industry Relations Council, to strategize a plan to prepare its members for the implementation of current and future changes in therapeutics and technology in breast surgical practice.
