Course Description:
In 2024, Photography for Breast Surgeons is an absolute necessity. In oncoplastic and breast reconstructive surgery, the surgeon works to remove the primary tumor with adequate margins while also attempting to maintain or improve the aesthetic appearance of the breast. Therefore, the surgeon needs to document appearance of the breast before and after surgery with images in a HIPAA complaint manner.
This course will cover medical photography and photography as an avocation, utilizing traditional cameras and smart phones. The curriculum will cover medical consent, pre-, post-, and intra-operative image capture as well as image storage, organization, and editing. With course completion, the attendee should be able to comfortably utilize photography for oncoplastic surgical planning, consultation, and evaluation. In addition, we hope to interest you in photography for personal enjoyment.
