Course Description:

This program, which is being offered free of charge, is designed for breast surgery fellows participating in a year-long multidisciplinary breast fellowship program, as well as residents entering or interested in participating in a breast fellowship. The lectures will provide supplemental information on a number of relevant topics for those about to begin practice, including genetics, genomics, neoadjuvant therapies, clinical trials, adjuvant therapies, and salary negotiation information.

Criteria for Participation:

The Fellows Course is a special supplemental course designed to address the unique needs of current and prospective breast fellows. Participation in the program is reserved for fellows participating in a year-long multidisciplinary breast surgery fellowship program and residents entering or interested in a breast fellowship. Fellows who are registered for the annual meeting may attend this program free of charge. However, attendees must also pre-register for the Fellows Course. All nonmember fellows or residents must provide a letter from their program director verifying their status to register for the Fellows Course 2025 and must email registration@breastsurgeons.org to register and attach documentation.

Course Objectives:

At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Provide relevant information to graduating breast fellows who are about to begin practice and residents entering a fellowship program
  • Summarize and strengthen key concepts obtained during fellowship regarding diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer and high-risk patients
  • Outline available clinical trials
