Michael P. Berry, MD, FACS, Installed as the Society's 28th President

Michael P. Berry, MD, of Germantown, Tennessee, became the 28th President of the American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBrS) on May 3, 2025, succeeding Dr. Judy C. Boughey during the Society’s annual business meeting at ASBrS 2025 in Las Vegas.

A member of ASBrS since 1999, Dr. Berry has served on the board of directors, contributed to numerous committees, delivered webinars, lectured, and facilitated over a dozen educational programs, including courses on image-guided interventions for members and Breast Surgical Oncology Fellows. He has also served as an editor for the Society’s Breast Education and Self-Assessment Program (BESAP).

Dr. Berry practices as a breast surgical oncologist at the Margaret West Comprehensive Breast Center at West Cancer Center and Research Institute in Germantown. He is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in Memphis and serves on the faculty for the West Cancer Center Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship.

He holds a B.A. from Baylor University, an M.D. from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and completed surgical training at Scott and White Memorial Hospital/Texas A&M College of Medicine. After six years as a general surgeon, he completed a Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship at the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation/University of Texas Southwestern Center for Breast Care. Dr. Berry is a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery.
